CASTING
As an avid SAP user and member of the America SAP Users Group (ASUG), I am constantly trying to cast my net farther and deeper. Recently, on asug.com, I proposed a challenge to fellow users: tell me how far and wide you can cast your net.
Each year at Annual Conference, the ASUG Human Capital Management Community sponsors an informal meeting of members in ASUG's Community Lounge with the theme "Don't Wait for Your Ship to Come In...Swim Out to It!" The idea being -- you have to actively participate in and reach out to others to make the most of your personal and professional development and to solve the SAP issues that may seem unsolvable.
Now - this idea I have is NOT original. You probably have seen those American Express card commercials encouraging you to start Booming. That's such a great idea, that I have decided to issue my own call to SAP and Business Objects users everywhere to start "casting". In keeping with the HCM community's theme of charting the course of the wide open sea, we're raising a challenge to everyone not only in our community but ACROSS communities to start reaching out to each other, crossing chapter lines, crossing community lines, crossing skill lines -- cast your line farther, your net deeper and tell us of your success.
I'll be reaching out across communities in the next several months to see how many of you I can connect with. Reach out to me here and tell me who you met and what you gained. Keep reading...let's see how many we can catch in the net we cast.
